CHANGE OF VOICE IN CASE OF FUTURE INDEFINITE TENSE

 


At the time of changing active voice into passive voice, subject and object are interchanged. Helping verbs ‘will’/ ‘shall’ are respectively replaced with ‘will be’/ ‘shall be’. Using 3rd form of verb, subject follows ‘by’.

1.  Affirmative:

Active voice  : Subject + will/shall + 1st form of Verb + object.

Passive voice: Object + will/shall + be + 3rd form of verb + by + Subject.

a.  Active voice     :  He will do it at once.

     Passive voice   :  It will be done by him at once.

b.  Active voice     :  They will win the match.

     Passive voice   :  The match will be won by them.

2.  Negative:

Active voice  : Subject + will/shall + not + 1st form of Verb + object.

Passive voice: Object + will/shall + not + be + 3rd form of verb + by + Subject.

a.  Active voice     :  I shall not take your book.

     Passive voice   :  Your book will not be taken by me.

b.  Active voice     :  He will never injure us.

     Passive voice   :  We shall never be injured by him.

3.  Interrogative:

Active voice  : Will/Shall + subject + 1st form of Verb + object?

Passive voice: Will/Shall + object + be + 3rd form of verb + by + Subject?

a.  Active voice     :  Will you read this book?

     Passive voice   :  Will this book be read by you?

b.  Active voice     :  Who will tell me the story?

     Passive voice   :  By whom shall I be told the story?
