B_‘What’ is used for a task, profession or thing in normal form; as :

it is also used for persons; as :

D_‘Who’,
‘whose’ and ‘whom’ are used for animate things or
persons; as :
1_Who is your favourite author?
2_Whose book is this?
3_Whom do you want to speak to?
