HOW TO FORM ADVERBS

1_ You make an adverb by adding ‘ly’ to an Adjective; as:- kind: kindly; nice: nicely; wise: wisely; quick: quickly.

2_ You make an adverb by adding ‘ly’ to a Noun; as:- year: yearly; day: daily; calm: calmly; poor: poorly.

3_ You make an adverb by adding ‘ly’ to a participle; as:- supposed: supposedly; hurried: hurriedly.

4_ Sometimes alphabet ‘a’ or any preposition is affixed with a noun, Adjective or Adverb to make an adverb:

i_Noun       :    a+board: aboard; a+side: aside; to+morrow: tomorrow; a+sleep: asleep; a+head: ahead; to+night: tonight.

ii_Adjective :   a+fresh: afresh; a+new: anew; a+loud: aloud; in+side: inside.

iii_Adverb : hither+to: hitherto; here+in: herein; there+by: thereby; out+and+out: out-and-out.

5_ Sometimes a noun and an adjective are joined to make an adverb; as:- other+wise: otherwise; mid+night: midnight; head+long: headlong; home+ward: homeward.

6_ You make an adverb of number in this way: one: once; two: twice; four: forth; five: fifth.
